Hi it's me again. Thanks for all of the suggestions. Unfortunately, I found a solution that doesn't make much sense to me... I DISABLED lba mode, and it worked! This goes against everything I have ever heard about large hard drives! Something else I forgot to mention: I initially have a 12 GB win98 partition (came that way!) When I started up disk druid, it noted that hda1 was in fact 12GB, and that the amount of disk space used was 12GB. Since it reported the drive size as 8GB, it therefore reported I had -4GB left! Very odd!! After deleting that partition I was only able to create 8GB worth of partitions (that is until I disabled LBA mode)
