It is almost always safer not to have the install program probe the
card at this stage... especially with a video card that is not known
to work with X (ie, you are unfamiliar with it).  It is difficult (if
not impossible) to recover the intall process at this point if it
fails.

Much better to do all the X setup once the system is up and running.

Actually, this is the _only_ time a redhat install has failed for me
(apart from ftp installs - this is still somewhat problematic at times
in RH5.2).
