After installing Red Hat 5.2 on my new system, I set up a local HP LaserJet 4L printer using Print Tool. The problem is that the first line of text files is not printed. But if I print text files through mpage, there is no problem. [I do correct for the staircase effect, and send EOF at the end of print jobs -- but the problem exists even when I disable these two features.] Any ideas? If I use mpage for text files, can I use a font like Lucida Console? I know about the '-F' option, but I don't know the different font labels I can use with it. TIA ... Johns
