I have a computer based on the ASUS P2B-DS motherboard with a PII at 350MHz.
I have two hard disks. The fist one is scsi and I use it entirely for linux. The
kernel is 2.2.1. The other hard disk is mainly for Windows '98.

My problem is that although the system can do an automatic poweroff from
Windows '98 it does not seem to want to cooperate when I type 'halt', or 'halt
-d', or 'poweroff' from linux. I have downloaded SysVinit-2.71-3 but nothing
changes.

Has anybody else come across this situation? Any help will be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
