Hello all I have just purchased a new SB 16 and installed it in my computer. I understand that these cards are supported under linux. Well I am running Red Hat 5.1 and when i run sndconfig it gives me an error that about a problem running modprobe. I ran pnpdump and uncommented what I thought was needed. My settings are as follows: IRQ=5 DMA=3 DMA=7 I/O=0x260 I/O=0x300 I/O=0x388 Question: In my isapnp.conf file I have the line about IRQ5 uncommented now about the DMA's I uncommented the line that says DMA 0(channel 1) but I change the 1 to a 3 I did the same thing to the DMA 1(channel 5) I changed it 7 and I uncommented the i/o 220 but changed it to 0x260 and uncommented 0x300 and 0x388 lines. Does this sound correct? Then i run isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf. When I go into X and try and run the cd player I get no sound. I don't know where I went wrong? Please help. Thanks for your help.
