If I'm not mistaking, the STB Velocity 128 has an ET6000 chipset.  This
chipset should use the XF86_W32 server.  I used to have an ET6000 card and
had a problem with X only running 8 bit color.  I'm pretty sure the newest
version of XFree86 has a lot better support for ET6000 cards.
