I started with redhat.  All distributions are more or less the same.  Most
people who have used more than one distribution swear by Debian.  I have
never used it, but I do know that slackware is a sloppy installer.  Use
redhat because you can purchase the cd's at most major retailers (~$30)...
Unlsess you want to download some distribution.  After a few months you'll
find that you've upgraded most components anyway and that your machine
only resembles the origional distribution.
