Please provide more information. Specifically:
What is the network configuration of one of your workstations?
What is the network configuration of NT?
In linux, when logged in as root, what is the output of ifconfig?
Can the linux server ping the workstations? Can they ping linux?
For what workgroup are your Windows boxes configured?
For what workgroup is your Samba server configured?
Is TCP/IP installed on your workstations?

If TCP/IP is not installed on your workstations, you will need to install
it. Samba does not work over NetBEUI or IPX.
