I have a Number 9 Reality 334 AGP card which has a SE Virge/GX2 chipset
and 4MB; and am running KDE over SusE 5.2 (linux kernel version 2.0.33).
AFAIK XFree has server support for DX and GX chipsets now, and SuSe has
been quite free with new X servers on their Web site.
