I am running RH 5.1. When fetchmail grabs the mail from my lan mail server
it is quite slow. I seem to remember something about dns so I checked the
resolv.conf file. If I just have my domain and nameserver address in the
file, fetchmail grabs the mail quickly. If I add my internet domain server
address and name fetchmail is slow. I am sure that it is trying to find the
address of the ISP nameserver. I am sure that I have something incorrectly
configured. My /etc/hosts file is straight out of the book. There is no
/etc/networks file.
Any ideas would be helpful.
