Printer configuration problem

I've installed RH 5.1 and have a HP DeskJet 400 Inkjet printer.
When I try to configure the printer through Control-Panel, I get
the error message 

postscript.cfg error: sed: Unterminated `s' command

Consequently, postscript.cfg is 0 bytes, and I can't print any
postscript documents which is really a pain.  Is there a solution?
