        Hi,
About a month ago I installed a parallel port Zip drive and
using the pass through to connect to my HP DJ690C, which uses the
bi-directional parallel port. This works fine in linux and Win95, also
the diagnostics software for the printer say that the bi-directional
functionality is still working. I think that your scanner and printer
will work quite happily together as long as you do not use both at the
same time
