Can Linux (Redhat 5.2) be installed with a null-modem cabel??

I have my desk top computer running Redhat 5.2, but I also have a old thinkpad 360CSE 
notepad with a 340MB hard driver.  The Thinkpad does not have access to a network or 
to a cd-rom. 

Can I somehow use a null-modem cable and link to my desk top to install redhat??

If so can you please email me all the details I am very new to this.
