I am attempting to set-up a Red Hat Linux File Server to allow local
anonymous ftp service as well as local (intranet) Web Service. My
current network configurations follows:
1 Novell Netware 3.12 Server
2 Windows 95 Clients
computer01 has 2 network cards configured as follows:
card 1: IP Address 99.9.999.999 this card is
connectecd to the cable modem
card 2: IP Address 192.168.0.1 this card is
connected to Netware Network through
10BaseT hub.
computer02 has 1 network card configured as follows:
card 1: IP Address 192.168.0.2 this card is
connected to Netware Network through
10BaseT hub.
1 Cable Modem connected to computer01 ( one of the Win95 clients)
This client is running a Midpoint Gateway software to allow
internet access to all users on the Novell Network.
1 Red Hat Linux 5.0 server
Domain Name: bosspeters
Machine Name: faith.bosspeters
Primary DNS: 192.168.0.1 (the address of the machine with the
Midpoint Gateway Software installed) Actual
DNS server address is 24.4.112.33
Questions:
Where are these config files located(/etc), and is there any good
documentation as to how to set these up manually?
On the RHL5.0 machine, is my domain name and machine name in the
proper fromat (bosspeteres, faith.bosspeters) or should it be
(bosspeters.com , faith.bosspeters.com)?
What should I set up the default gateway to be on the RHL5.0 machine,
the 24.4.112.33 internet address, or the 192.168.0.1 intranet address
running the midpoint gateway software?
