Hello,
I'm still struggling with this problem and hope someone can help. I will
apparently need a step by step procedure, because there's just something
I'm not getting or doing.
I'm using slackware linux v3.6 with kernel 2.2.5. I'm using isapnptools
v1.18. See problem below.
I have a 56k isa pnp modem. This modem is *not* a windows only modem. I
have used pnpdump to create a /etc/isapnp.conf file and have uncommented
an appropriate configuration of ttyS2 or com3 under dos with the
necessary interrupts. I have also inserted these lines in to my
/etc/rc.d/rc.S file, from the new one in the slackware-current directory:
# Configure ISA Plug-and-Play devices:
if [ -r /etc/isapnp.conf ]; then
if [ -x /sbin/isapnp ]; then
/sbin/isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf
fi
fi
but nothing happens. I don't see anything where it says anything about a
modem on bootup, I've gone through /var/adm/messages and nothing, I don't
even see ttyS2, even though I uncommented it in /etc/rc.d/rc.serial file
and uncommented the appropriate line to call said file in /etc/rc.d/rc.S
Can anyone help?
Thank you.
Dave.
