Hi, all -- hope somebody has an idea.
I recently reinstalled glibc-2.1.1p1 on my slackware
system(kernel-2.2.6). Previous 'make install's failed due to problems
creating the info files and I had to install by hand. I've finally
gotten my system clean enough so that 'make install' works without a
hitch -- except for the test_installation.pl script. It fails to link
against the lib*.so links in /usr/lib; ie libnss1_files.so . I've
checked all the suggestions listed upon failure of the script. The
links do exist, /usr/lib is in my compiler's search path, in
/etc/ld.so.conf and they show up in /etc/ld.so.cache. However, when I
execute ldconfig with -v or -p they do not show up in the listing. I
haven't yet tried to link a program of my own against them. Any
thoughts, ideas, help would be greatly appreciated.

For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit
within him? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except
the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the
Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given
us.
