Hello there!

I'm trying to make an initial ramdisk for jernel 2.2.6. As a former RedHat
user, I know there is the program mkinitrd for that purpose on redHat systems.
But I have a Debian 2.1 and .. I curious to know how to make my own initial
ramdisks for some of my unconventional kernel configurations.
I managed to make an initial randisk following the instructions in
Dcomentation/Changes of the kernel sources, but when booting the image with
this initial ramdisk, it stops with something like this:
Failed to run /sbin/modprobe
VFS: could not mount root filesystem
..
..
..

How can I fiy that? What is laking in my initial ramdisk? Where can I find some more
documentation?

Thanks all!
