Try ifconfiging all of the interfaces down, make sure they're gone from
the routing table and then try to remove the module.  What errors do you
get when you do this?  You might also try removing the module for the
ethernet card as well if they still don't go away.  Then reinsert all the
modules you want and reifconfig everything and setup the routing table.
