Under the 2.0.x
kernel I used to be able to use ifconfig like this: ifconfig eth0:1
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx to assign a second IP address to a NIC. Under 2.2.4 it
doesn't work anymore - I get "no such interface exists". So, the question
is how do I assign a second IP to a single NIC under the new kernel
series?
