Hi All We recently installed RedHat 6.0 on the server which organizes NIS. The client machines are still RedHat 5.2. Since we made this change, it seems that changing passwords no longer works. It says: > > RPC: Unable to receive > The NIS password has not been changed on wombat.cs.uwa.edu.au. I did notice that the rpc.yppasswdd daemon stops after a while on the server after restarting, but I am not sure whether yppasswd should be an active process all the time, or whether it should be started only when a request is made. The other possibility is that yppasswd (on the client machines with RH5.2) does not work any longer with rpc.yppasswdd on the server (now RH6.0). Anyone has any experience with this? Any help will be most appreciated.
