I have created a cpio archive on a couple of different Unix platforms (SCO and AIX) with the -c option (cpio -ocvB...). When I attempt to un-archive these files on Linux 6.0 using the -c option as well (cpio -icvBdum...), I get the following error: cpio: premature end of file If I un-archive the files without the -c option, the problem goes away. Does anyone know if this is normal behavior? I was under the assumption that the -c option should always be used for portability reasons. Thanks in advance, Scott
