Hi, I was running RedHat Linux 6.0 quite happily on my system for some time, till I had the idea to recompile with a 'then new' 2.2.10 kernel. Ever since I have done that, I get the following messages in my /var/log/messages: modprobe:can't locate module lo:0 this repeats up to modprobe:can't locate module lo:49 each time I boot up. The same also happens with lo replaced by eth0. Also, sometimes when I open a console, I get modprobe:can't locate module char-major-5 written to /var/log/messages. Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong and how to rectify it again? Cheers, Aron ---------------------- Aron Zeh University of Exeter
