Upgrading xwp would not be an option, as it's source is not supplied.
Downgrading his system to libc5 should also not be an option. Fortunately,
neither is necessary. Just install libc5 in some other directory, update
"/etc/ld.so.conf" to reflect this addition to the system, and then run
"ldconfig" (as root).
N.B.: This is not a BLINUX issue.
