If the printer is physically connected to a Linux box, then your problem may be
that you can only print on it remotely if your userid has been defined on the
box to which the printer is connected. I'm not sure, since I don't use Windows,
but it may be that Windows presents its user as root and, therefore, doesn't
have this problem.
