I recently intalled some software on my RH6.1 box,
and some of the files have come up with a number for
the user and group, instead of 'root'.

ls -l gets me:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 4403 300 102908 Mar 16 17:51 setiathome
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 0 May 3 08:56 state.sah

I also get:

drwxrwsr-x 8 uucp 143 4096 Jan 12 20:10 jdk1.2.2

Why would some files come up with 'root', and some with just
the nubers? They were installed from the same archive.

And whats with the uucp on the JDK files? Should I change
all that to root?

Thanks
DK
