Yes, but perhaps he's asking about the controversial bash 1.47 vs bash2
issue. There has been a sort of spook around bash2 on incompatibility and
bugs, and because of that, many distributions never upgraded. I use bash2
daily and find it harmless. Bash 1.47 is tried and true,
however. Something like sticking with linux-2.0*, perhaps.
