I am trying to get up to speed with Linux A.S.A.P. This weekend is
dedicated to patches, beleiving it will lead to a healthier machine. I
am using RH6.0 (2.2.5-15). I have so far come accross the following
messages, and have no idea what they mean, the outcome if ignored, etc.
Please can someone translate and explain how to find what gets installed
where and what I should do when I get these messages.
[root@charlie Package Update]# rpm -Uvh mod_php3-3.0.9-1.i386.rpm
mod_php3

[root@charlie Package Update]# rpm -U rpm-devel-3.0.2-6.0.i386.rpm

Is there are good sources of documatation on updates?
Thanks,
