Try this: Check your file /etc/conf.modules and add the line: alias parport_lowelevel parport_pc Also make sure that in the BIOS the port is not set to auto but rather to a fixed address and IRQ, eg. 0378/IRQ7 and that the mode is also not set to auto but to SPP, ECP or EPP. Cheers...Kishore
