The data is coming at a faster rate than machine A can handle. May be
increasing the memory / input buffer  of 'A' could help. A hub could slow
down the data transfer rate; so yes, it could work with Hubs.
Alternatively, the switch ports could be set to use 10 Mbps only. There is
no problem in the switch as it appears.
