Hi ... a bit long mail ...but please bear with me....... I am using a OPL3-Sax card ............ while i was installing rh6.1 the setup didnt ask me anything me anything about the configuration of the sound card. i tried using "sndconfig" but it says "no plug and play cards found" whereas the specifications of the card say that the card is a pnp one. the card works perfectly in windoze...... neway , i used "lsmod" to see that there is a sound module loaded into the kernel and the sound module is using four other modules namely, "opl3", "opl3sa2", "ad1848" and "mpu401" ........... and all these modules are loaded into kernel as can be seen from lsmod. these are exactly the same device specifications that windoze shows in the devices list in control panel. so, what i guess is that my sound card has been detected by rh6.1. but, when i try to use any sound utility it gives me error saying that Sound: DMA(output) timed out: IRQ/DRQ config error when i use sndconfig and select my card which is listed there ...i get an error saying that the module /lib/modules/sound is already in use. wud u please guide me to configuring my soundcard properly.......... thanks and regards krk -------------------------------------------------------------------- The mailing list archives are available at http://lists.linux-india.org/cgi-bin/linux-delhi
