Hey Thanx, it worked. I have also added the following to my /etc/profile
so that every time I log on, A new .signature file is created with a new
random tagline at its end.

cat ~/signature.txt > ~/.signature
/usr/games/fortune >> ~/.signature

signature.txt in every users home directory contains the basic sig for
that user. The signature below has been generated this way.
