actually... i use a GVC modem 2... but i just use the simple atz ...
nevr had any problems...
the problem is w/t the default rh ppp-on script... i faced the same
problem where the modem just didnt get any signal...forget about getting
initialised...
then sandip... u gav me ur ppp-on script and it worked...
