well the way the pointer should have been is an x...(that is if ur system is
already installed. )and it remains an x only until a windowmanager loads.
which windowmanagers did u install? which X enviornment did u install???
bcause i repeat... the fact that the mouse pointer was displayed..(no matter
what the pointer was) means that ur monitor and card are installed properly...
so the thing that could b buggy is ur X settings...
