Actually they may have been doing linux devlopment for back. I read a
article whose writer went for interview somewhere in 98 or something
and he was selected on the basis of his bending towards linux
37 devlopers were allocted AFAIk for MS-OFFICE port to linux
They have got whole library ready to run win32api on unix
IE 5 was released for Solaris and HP-UX
They are going to release software for MAC OS X which is for all
practical purposes in BSD environment
MS is doing far more unix devlopment then we think
And NT too is a unix environment
So they have the know how
Now MS is known too kill its competitors
they killes Amiga
Apple
PS/2
Novell
Now its Linux turn
They may not be successful but they are definately going to try
