Hi There,
First and formost you need to check whether the network card has been
properly installed on each computer in the network.
At bootup check for OK for the eth0 interface if you have just one network
card installed on you computers or likewise for the other network devices if
you have more than one network card on your computer.
Use the address range for private networks to assign an IP address to each
host on the network.
For example if a Class C private network is to be created assign 192.168.0.1
to the main machine(server) and then 192.168.0.2 and so on for the other
machines in the network.
After successful installation of the network card on each of the machine
connect them through a hub and try a ping to any other machine using that
machine's IP address. If the previous steps have been taken care of then the
network should be reachable and lo you network is up.
