[linux-delhi] about proxy server

hello to all
can any body tell me about the linux proxy server
my friend have 4 windows machines(98)
we both want to setup an linux proxy server.
please telll us about the basic steps involved in a bit detail.
the 5th machine is running on linux red hat 7.0on which i want the proxy
server.

help me out
