If the problem occurs on IE on an NT machine, connecting to a server
outside your control, then the 500 code is not an issue for you or your
gateway.
Simple test:
Is he going to a specific site? Can other connect to that site,
form their PCs? Can he connect to http://counter.li.org from his NT?
