I am fairly new to Linux and have installed Redhat 5.1 I can not get diald
configured to dial out properly.
PPP works ok from X if I manually activate the link. I can go to another PC
running Windows 98 on my home lan and activate internet explorer thru my
linux box. both scenarios, I can connect and stay connected. I can dial ok
using minicom.
I have followed the instructions in the man pages, the How-To's and "Linux
Network Toolkit" without success. I feel I am overlooking something very
simple in the connect/diald.conf files. Diald will try to dial out, hangs
up, and then dials again. This cycle continues.
I have a static IP # and my ISP uses PAP.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
