Greetings,

After a major light bulb (thanks Jan) I finally have diald sort of working. My system
consists of a Linux gateway and an ethernet connection to a Win95 machine. I'm on
metered service so I would like diald to bring the link down prior to receiving the
next charge pulse. I've been playing around with the impulse option, are there any
other considerations for metered phone lines and diald?

Secondly, my link is coming up on it's own with everything sitting idle. It appears
to be coming from the Windows 95 box making a request to my ISP nameserver but I'm
still trying to decipher the tcpdump. Any helpful hints on special filter rules etc.
or configuration of my windows 95 machine to keep diald from needlessly dialing in
would be a great help.

Cheers,

Rod
