Hi

I have a problem with linux PPP and my ZyXEL ISDN omni.net plus modem. I
know this mailing list is not the appropriate place for this question,
but since got answers concerning ISDN before, I guess there are a few
people on this list with the same configuration as me.

Is there a better mailing list or news group for my question?

I have a linux box with kernel 2.0.36, pppd version 2.3.5-1.The modem is
a omi.net plus with firmware version 4.16c (European ISDN). The modem is
set up for sync HDLC to async PPP conversion, modem command ATB40.

The connection phase works alright with authentication and network
address negotiation etc. The problems starts in the network phase. All
incoming packets are discarded due to a CRC error:
kernel: ppp: frame with bad fcs, excess = XXXX.
Not a single frame is received. I have turned off anything resmbling of
compression in my pppd.

When using the modem from windows 95 it works just fine.

Is the CRC received created by my ISP or by the modem?
Is there a special Microsoft PPP protocol?
The manual states that STAC/LZS (RFC1974) is only supported in modes 0,
3 and 4, not mode 2(CRC). Is this the problem?
Does anyone have a clue?

Thanks

/Mrten
