Kernel 2.0.x: it's up to you so long as all programs that access the modem
use the same device name. Though ttySx is preferred.
Kernel 2.1.x and 2.2.x: you should use ttyS. [You will see warning messages
about using outdated cua references and requests that you update your
settings and/or software.]
