The remote and local address listed in /etc/diald.conf are for the
virtual slip interface. I have the same configuration set up and I
use local=192.168.0.1 and remote=192.168.0.2 (the default settings
Diald comes with). Then I set my local Ethernet interface, eth0, to
192.168.1.1. This should work like a champ. If you have further
problems connect up and do an 'ifconfig -a' and send me the output.
Also send me the ipfwadm commands you are using. I am using:
ipfwadm -I -f
ipfwadm -O -f
ipfwadm -F -f
ipfwadm -F -p deny
ipfwadm -F -a m -S 192.168.1.0/24 -D 0.0.0.0/0
To set up IP masquerading. Note, the above configuration does not
provide any firewall style security.
