Logging for ipfwadm is actually done through the kernel logging facility.
So editing the source of ipfwadm would not do you any good. You would have
to edit the kernel source.
In the file /etc/syslog.conf it can be setup as
## kernel messages
kern.* /var/log/kernel.log
This will send all of the log messages for the kernel to the specified file.
The actual messages that you see in the log file are generated in the file
linux/net/ipv4/ip_fw.c using the printk routine.
