I've just compiled it and your mail is among the first ones I download using
this new diald 0.98.2 :-)

It seems not to have corrected the problem that the first packet which triggers
the connection to come up. Maybe its not a diald problem.

NOTE:
before compiling have a look at Makefile.
find out which libc you're using, I found it with 'locate /libc.so'
or if you don't have a locate database with 'find /lib -name libc.so.*'.

Otherwise when using libc.so.5 you might not be able to complete the
compilation.

you can continue to use your config files if they are OK.
