And naturally that's the one I want!
So, back to the archives, where can I get them?
BTW, I'm reasonably close to having it working the way I wan't except
that to bring a link up I need to fire off a dns query so that telnet
some-remote-host will work on the first try. (there's a note in 6.??
in the faq about this)
I think the following describes a way to get things to work the way I
want:
Suppose that the resolver libraries were dynamically loaded (for some
reason they seem to be static on my machine at least) and the dynamic
ones were commonly used. Then suppose that resolv.conf was extended
such that one could specify which nameserver to use based on
particular host names, or perhaps host name patterns, and ultimately a
default nameserver. With this, telnet host.net1.com could use the
net1.com nameserver, telnet host.net2.com could use the net2.com
nameserver etc. By referencing different nameservers, the appropriate
dns query would be issued and routed to the correct diald interface
(sl0, sl1 or sl2) establishing the proper connection. Once the name
was resolved and the connection was up, telnet would work and all
would be great.
In my case, I think I have the routing basically set up the way it
needs to be for the 3 different ISPs, but I can't seem to select which
nameserver to query for the connection I want. Are there any bind
guru's out there that have ideas on how to do this? I don't know a lot
about named configuration but I'm learning! Perhaps there's a way to
configure a local named to be somewhat selective about which
nameserver it sends queries to for specific domains. I've been digging
through the bind sources but they're somewhat technical as you can
imagine.
Thanks for any info!
