You probably need the .5 patch.  Get it from 
http://www.loonie.com/~exchenk/diald.html
Follow the instructions for applying the patch.

The reason as I understand it, is RedHat's move to a new set of 
libraries in version 5.  The patch allows diald to compile with the 
new libraries.
