Hi,

My internet server running diald is a 486-66 with 16Mb of RAM.
When it is booted it runs at a reasonable speed but after it has
been up for a few days I notice long delays in logging in or running
scripts etc. I think the problem stems from diald creating new
processes every time it runs (the last PID at the moment is 24262).
Rebooting the server makes it work at a good speed again - for a
while.

Is the problem with diald, the kernel, init or what? Could it be
another process? (The server also runs sendmail, named, httpd as
well as the normal linux daemons).

Does anyone else experience this?

Perhaps I should just add reboot to my nightly cron job!

Thanks in advance,

Iain
