Another good strategy is to get named to dump debugging information. I
think this is a kill -USR1 and kill -USR2 to turn it off. The debugging
info gets dumped to a file in /var/tmp I think.
This will let you know what addresses are being looked up and perhaps what
ip address the queries are coming from.
Knowing the address being looked up and the type of lookup is often enough
to figure out which program is doing the lookup.
