I'm needing to fix a "can't get terminal parameters: I/O error" error and I can't seem to get diald-0.16.5-201.src.rpm to install. I issued an rpm -ivh diald-0.16.5-201.src.rpm command and when I do a rpm -qi|grep diald, nothing but the compiled binary seems to be installed. Do I need to uninstall the binary and then install the src, patch it, compile it, and then install that? If anyone else out there has had the same I/O error problems and have fixed it with the patch and have a new compiled RPM, I would be happy to have it to update my binary (already compiled)rpm. According to Robert de Bath (many thanks for all of his help) the command $ "stty 5:0:800014b2:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0 </dev/ttyS0" should produce the error message. Also, do you have to be running X windows to be able to run dctrl and diald-config? Running RedHat 5.1 and Kernel 2.0.35 (yes, I though the new kernel would fix my "can't get ..." problems.)
