You need to find out from your ISP what type of authentication they are
using...PAP, CHAP, manual. Mine uses CHAP, so I had to add my user name
and password to the chap-secrets file. Getting it working with ppp before
trying to get diald involved.

Subject: Newbie Question: Sample Connect Script

Sorry for the newbie question here -- but I'm stuck trying to get my
diald connect script to work on Caldera Linux w/the 2.0.3.3 kernel.

It dials as expected, but always times out before it can log
in. I suspect the script just isn't tuned right to the isp.

Does anyone have a working script they could post or email me? I
have the sample connect script included with diald, but just can't
get it to work right.

TIA.

Bill
